The Implant Restoration Hands-On Masterclass

(2-day Workshop)

Description:

This comprehensive 2-day program is designed for dental professionals seeking to enhance their skills and knowledge in full arch implant restorations for edentulous patients. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the diagnostic process, treatment planning, and various restorative options available for full arch solutions. The course covers a wide range of topics, including implant-retained overdentures, implant-supported bar overdentures, fixed full-arch prostheses, and segmented implant-supported fixed dental prostheses.

Attendees will learn how to effectively present treatment options to patients, considering factors such as the number of implants, prosthetic space, occlusal vertical dimension, lip support, and aesthetic considerations. The program explores both conventional and digital denture workflows, as well as various abutment types and their respective restorative workflows.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with full arch implant-supported fixed prostheses, including temporaries, abutment-level and implant-level restorations, final impressions, passive fit assessment, and verification jigs. The course also covers material selection, prostheses insertion protocols, occlusion principles, and troubleshooting common complications.

By the end of this program, attendees will have acquired the skills and confidence to diagnose, plan, and execute full arch implant restorations, ultimately improving patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Pearls of practice in implantology:
Prosthetic planning, abutment selection and prosthetic complications
& management.

(day 1)

Description of course:

In the last 20 years, implants have slowly become one of the most common treatment
modalities to replace missing or unrestorable teeth.
Although most studies show that they present good long term survival rates, it is
imperative to look into the most common complications with implant dentistry. This
presentation will discuss the biological, mechanical, functional and aesthetic
complications. It will also showcase some precautions to take in order to minimize these
complications in the future.
Additionally, a review of proper planning and prosthetic abutment selection will be
discussed in order to minimize the possible future complications

Course objectives:

  1. Identify common biological, mechanical, functional and aesthetic complications.
  2. Identify ways to minimize each complication.
  3. Discuss appropriate prosthetic design and abutment selection to minimize
    complications.
  4. Discuss adequate planning to minimize aesthetic and functional complications.

Implant Temporization: a journey through esthetic considerations to understanding emergence profile

(day 2)

Description of course:
This program has been designed to present the importance of proper assessment and
planning of cases requiring implant-supported restorations. Treatment of the anterior
area will be discussed in order to better understand the criteria necessary to obtain a
predictable aesthetic outcome.
The different prosthetic choices will be discussed in order to demystify the advantages
of each and to facilitate the appropriate selection according to clinical indication.
The design and fabrication of implant supported provisional crowns in the aesthetic
zone will also be discussed and demonstrated in order to showcase the importance of
this tool for the maintenance and preparation of the peri-implant tissue before the
fabrication of the final restoration.

Course objectives:

  1. Understanding the planning process in implant dentistry.
  2. Assessment of the aesthetic zone for implant-supported restorations.
  3. Identification of the risk factors in order to reduce aesthetic complications.
  4. Understanding the importance of peri-implant tissue preparation and proper
    emergence profile through provisional restoration.
